The Verdict and Financial Breakdown

The jury reached its decision in two phases. Initially, the panel awarded Motsinger $17.5 million for past damages and $1.75 million for future damages, citing severe mental suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and emotional distress. On Monday afternoon, the jury added an additional $40 million in punitive damages, intended to punish the defendant for his actions.
