TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays delivered a statement win in ALDS Game 2, routing the New York Yankees 13–7 to take a commanding 2–0 lead in the best-of-five series. Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage was sensational, tossing 5⅓ hitless innings, walking only one, and striking out 11 batters — setting a new franchise postseason record for strikeouts. Offensively, the Jays were led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who launched the club’s first-ever postseason grand slam, and Daulton Varsho, who hit two homers and drove in four runs.

Yankees Struggle Against Toronto Offense

New York starter Max Fried struggled, allowing seven runs on eight hits before exiting early. The Yankees’ bullpen could not contain the rally, as Toronto maintained pressure through the middle innings. The Jays recorded 15 hits in total, sustaining momentum and making a comeback for New York extremely difficult.

Series Outlook

With the win, Toronto leads the series 2–0 and will shift to New York for Game 3. The Jays have outscored the Yankees 23–8 in the first two games. Fans and analysts are now asking whether New York can rebound or if Toronto will carry momentum straight into the ALCS.
