Two Flight School Planes Collide in Mid-Air Near Chilliwack

Two flight school planes collided near Chilliwack on August 3, 2026. One landed safely while another crashed in a lagoon; no one was hospitalized.

No Hospitalizations Following Fraser Valley Incident

Five ambulances were dispatched to the area around Wolfe Road and Schweyey Road, northwest of the airport, by BC Emergency Health Services on August 3, 2026. Following the collision, no patients were taken to the hospital.

Two Flight School Aircraft Involved

The mid-air crash near Chilliwack, a municipality roughly 100 kilometres east of Vancouver, involved two flight school planes. Garry Atkins of the Chilliwack Airport reported that one aircraft carrying two people managed to land safely at the facility.

Investigative Status

The second plane came down in a quarry lagoon with one person reported to be aboard. The RCMP did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the crash.
